Anyhow today I went up to get Luke from his nap and begun to put on my own little production of American Idol (which he loves to watch by the way. When someone starts singing... Luke will either say "Hollywood" like they are going to Hollywood or "No Hollywood" - meaning they haven't quite made it. He tends to be more of a Randy Jackson type of judge. A little wishy-washy at times... but his heart is in the right place). So I'm singing my songs and Luke is jumping up and down like a little Mexican jumping bean. And this goes on for so many of the songs I sing:
- Lollipop (of course)
- Barbara Ann (of course)
- Lion Sleeps Tonight
- Under the Boardwalk
- Chain Gang
- Blue Moon
- On Top of Old Smokey
- Who Put the Bomp
- One Tin Soldier
- Luke of Montaine (put to the melody of Duke of Earl. Montaine is the name of the neighborhood we live in -we like to personalize our songs)
- I Love Him
- Twinkle Twinkle
- Itsy Bitsy Spider
- Rock a Bye Baby
- Row Row Row Your Boat
- Old MacDonald
- B-I-N-G-O (by this time I'm getting desperate on songs!)
- Late Last Night - Fire Fire Fire (old campfire song)
Anyhow I was midway through my songs and he was getting super excited jumping up and down and singing with me. He was jumping so high that I had to look away it was making me so nervous. That should have been a sign for me to step in and tell him to slow down on the jumping. But sometimes when I do that I feel like it makes him want to jump more (go figure, I think he gets that from Bryan :) ). So I tried to relax and just told him to be careful. As I looked back at him, I see him coming down from his high jump and BAM, lands right on his cute little chinny chin chin. :(
I immediately jumped up from the rocking chair and he was already in full silent hard cry. I picked him up and tried to brace myself to see if he had bitten through his tongue, cheek or knocked out some teeth. I fully expected to see blood streaming out of his mouth. Luckily, no blood was running out of his mouth. And when I lifted up his head to inspect his chin I really couldn't see too much of anything other than a small bump that had formed right under his chin bone. I held him for a little bit while he was crying telling him he was OK over and over. And then I told him after he calmed down we'd go downstairs and put some ice on it and watch "Sid the Science Kid." This perks him up and I get him changed and we head downstairs. As soon as we get downstairs he wanted his ice. So I get a bag of peas and he puts it on his face. He was SOOO good holding it still! When holding it he said, "Peas!! Cold!!!"
