Stop Please..... Better!

Every night when we put Luke down to bed we follow the same bedtime routine:

1. We brush his teeth, then we pass the toothbrush to him so he can brush his own teeth:

2. We put him on the potty so he can go potty (which he has been doing for the past month or so!!!)

3. Put him in diapers and change him into pajamas

4. Get him a small glass of "fake" milk (we put a smidge of formula with a TON of water so it sort of looks like milk).  The reason we do this is we want him to believe he is having milk, but then it doesn't taste that good so he won't drink very much of it. The hope is he'll stop wanting to drink SO much before bedtime... and we are thinking that this could help with bedtime potty training (but what do we know?  Hopefully no pediatricians are reading this. I'm sure they'd disagree).

5. We read 2 books... Generally "Pajama Time" and lately it's this "Farm Touch and Feel" book that we use to sing Old McDonald to.

6. Then he gets into his "Cozy Sack" all by himself (or at least mostly)

7. Daddy will walk him around his room saying Good Night to a few special things in the room: Plane, Beary, Booey, Rocket Picture, Rattling bear, Fishy Sippy Cup, Piggy, Choo-Choo train picture, Star and Moon nightlight:

8. Lastly we turn off the light and sing some of Mommy's made-up Turtle night light songs.  Papa and Mama (my mom and dad) got him this Turtle night light:

When you turn off the main bedroom lights, all of the stars, from the Turtle nightlight project on the wall. There are 3 colors, Green, Blue and Orange.  When we turn off the lights, we start with Green and sing the Green Turtle song. This song is set to the melody of "Dream" by the Everly Brothers.   Then we move to the Blue color and sing a few lines from "Blue Moon" and then lastly we go to Orange and sing a made-up song by me.   Anyhow every time we start the singing process both Luke and I will start singing and Bryan will sometimes join in.  Every time Bryan joins in, Luke will put his hand up (as if he is saying, "talk to the hand" and says, "Stop Please" - to Bryan. He's so polite :) )   But last night Bryan kept singing... So Luke had to repeat himself a few times.... Then Bryan finally got the hint and stopped singing... and Luke said, "Better" and Luke and I continued singing merrily. :)  Poor Daddy! :)
